PrivacyPolicy
This policy explains how JL Properties (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit jlproperties.com.mt or get in touch with us. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Malta’s Data Protection Act (Cap. 586).
Who we are
JL Properties is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at 170, Triq il-Qasam, Swieqi SWQ1450, Malta, by email at [email protected] or by phone on +356 9999 9472.
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use our contact form we receive your name, email address, phone number, the property you’re asking about and your message. If you email, call or WhatsApp us, we receive the details you share with us.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our web server and our security and delivery provider (Cloudflare) automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request.
We don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, to arrange viewings, bookings or a rental — because you asked us to, or to take steps before entering into a contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the website secure, prevent abuse and spam, and fix problems — based on our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To meet our legal obligations, for example record keeping (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
We never sell your personal data or use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with service providers that help us run the website and our business, and only as needed:
- our web hosting provider, whose servers are in the European Union;
- Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the website;
- Microsoft, which provides our email service, where contact form messages are delivered.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under safeguards recognised by EU law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
Embedded content from other websites
Our property pages include 3D virtual tours hosted by Matterport, and some pages show maps from Google Maps. When a page with this content loads, your browser connects to those services, which receive your IP address and may set their own cookies. Links to our Facebook page take you to Facebook. These services are governed by their own privacy policies:Matterport,Google andMeta.
Cookies
Our website does not set its own cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people and bots apart, and the embedded tours and maps described above may set their own cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any rental that follows, and afterwards only as long as the law requires. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email us at[email protected]. We will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to Malta’s data protection authority, theInformation and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
